Windows XP : Add/Delete Printer
For ALL Users

To Add a printer for all users of a Windows XP computer, including one that logs in through Active Directory.
- Log on as an administrator.
- Click the "Start" bar.
- In the menu box click "Printers & FAXs".
- Under "Printer Tasks" on the left click "Add a Printer".
- The "Add Printer Wizard" panel opens. Click "Next".
- Choose "Local printer attached to this computer".
- Click "Next".
- Click "Create a new Port".
- Choose "Standard TCP/IP Port" from the dropdown menu.
- Click "Next".
- You are now at "Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port Wizard".
- Read the note.
- Click "Next".
- On the next panel:
- Fill in the printer IP address.
- Give the port a reasonable name.
- Click "Next".
- Click "Finish" to complete the wizard.
- You are now at "Install Printer Software".
- Choose the Manufacturer and Printer, or at least the closest choice.
- Click "Next".
- At the next page you usually want to keep the same driver, if there was one.
- Click "Next".
- You are at "Name Your Printer".
- Choose a name that will be meaningful to users. Possibly involving the room number the computer is in.
- Choose whether this should be the default printer.
- Click "Next".
- You are at "Print Test Page".
- Choose "Yes" or "No".
- Click "Next".
- You are at "Completing the Add Printer Wizard".
- Click "Finish".
- Press "OK" or "Troubleshoot".
- The printer should now be added for all users of the computer, including Active Directory Logins.
To Delete a printer for all users of the computer.
- Log in as an administrator.
- Click "Printers and FAXs".
- Right-Click the printer you want to delete.
- Choose "Delete".
- Say you are sure: "Yes".
- The printer will disappear for the pane.
