Vendor Printer Setup

To install vendor-provided printer icons on Media Center PCs.
Windows 10
- You must start from the computer(s) needing the printers added.
Each computer must have this done individually.
- Login using administrator credentials. This can be either
- A login by an individual having AD administrator privileges on the machine or
- the computer's local .\administrator account.
- Run \\3861-printserv
- When the server window appears go to "PCClient".
- Select "Win".
- Double-click "Client-local-install".
- A popup says "Welcome to the PaperCut MF Client Setup Wizard" opens.
- Click "Next".
- Accept the agreement, then click "Next".
- Accept the default install location by clicking "Next".
- Make sure "Local Install (For all users)" is selected.
- Click "Next".
- Click "Install".
- After the progress bar finishes click "Finish".
- Wait until this finishes.
- Restart the computer.
- Printers "BlackandWhite 3861" and "Color 3861" should now be available to all logged-in users on this computer.
Before Windows 10:
- Be sure that PCs are set up to require network logins for students.
The Printing vendor will need these to identify students.
- The vendor must set up the printer script to accept all network users.
- From the Windows Start Bar on the client computer choose: run --> \\3861-printserv
- Log in to the server with
username: xxx
password: xxx
- Click "ok".
- Navigate to the "PC Client" folder.
- Find the "client.vbs" script, right-click on it and choose "Copy".
- Click on the "Start" bar.
- Select "All Programs"
- Choose "Startup Folder" and right-click on it.
- Choose "Open All Users".
- Choose "Paste".
- This will install the vendor printers at the next re-boot of the client PC.
