OSX 10.6.8 Printer Pause Fix
OSX 10.6.8
Updated 2011-11-01 TU @ 14:35 EDT (UT-4)
When some users install OSX 10.6.8 certain older printers (Lexmark T630) go into "printing paused" and do not print the document requested. When the user attempts to un-pause the printer, it immediately goes back to pause. This means that these printers are completely unusable from affected Macs.
Apple's official fix for this problem is to follow the following steps.
- Click on the Apple Menu and choose "System Preferences".
- Click on "Print and FAX". The icon looks like a little printer.
- Control-Click (or right-click if you are using a two-button mouse)
on the Printer having the problem in the listing of printers.
- Choose "Reset Printing System".
- This deletes all of your printers, but when you add them back they will work.
