A staff member with ID number p00057368 (me) would have a folder at:

\\3861-fileserv\staff\P00057368\

Only the student (staff member) with that ID number and some authorized school personnel will have access to that folder. Students (staff members) can store files and documents in there and will also be able to create sub-folders.

The student with ID 0670623673 would access this folder as follows:

Windows:

1. Log in to the computer as normal with student (staff) ID for Name and their individual password for the password.
   

   Name	0670623673
   Password	the applicable password
   Log on to	BROWARDSCHOOLS

2. Under the "Start" Bar select "My Computer".
3. At the bottom of the "My Computer" panel double-click the "X" drive. This will have the person's ID number attached to it.
4. You are now connected to your folder and have full control of the contents.
5. You will be disconnected when you:
   • Log off of your account on the computer,
   • Restart the computer,
   • Shut down the computer.

Macintosh

1. Click on the desktop.
2. From the "Go" menu in the Menu Bar select "Connect to Server".
3. In the "Connect to Server" box type:
   smb://3861-fileserv/students/0670623673
4. Click "Connect".
5. When the "SMB/CIFS File System Authentication" box pops up type:
   

   Workgroup or Domain	BROWARDSCHOOLS
   Name	0670623673
   Password	the applicable password

6. Press "OK".
7. You are now connected to your folder and have full control of the contents.
8. You will be disconnected from your folder when you:
   • Log off the computer account you are using,
   • Click the "Eject" button or otherwise eject the drive that the folder is on,
   • Restart the computer,
   • Shut down the computer.
